i hate to become one of those #internetActivists, but with the passing of CISPA and in light of recent events in boston i think it’s time i put my foot down on a place i truly believe in: Earth.

in America we seem to be trying to breed a horde of blind believers in a faith that describes our planet as a place full of hate and evil that needs to be cleansed of sin and the sinners to be banished into oblivion. i am here to tell you that i have visited this “Earth” on many occasions, in many different locations, and that this statement is just untrue.

using an advanced technology called SCIENCE i have conducted a series of tests on a small control group and found that people pretty much just want to be loved and feel safe, and also have cool stuff. we all may have our differences and we make make mistakes (some resulting in some serious repercussions) but most of those people just feel wronged in someway, or misunderstood.

and it doesn’t help that our #AMERICAN justice system involves torture, solitary confinement, and death. yes, in the year 2013, where the computers in our pockets are more powerful than the computers that sent a man to the moon, we are still punishing people by ending their lives, hurting not only their friends and families, but the communities they come from, breeding more hate for our government and feeding the core of religious activists that still feel that it’s the niggers and the faggots that are running this country into the ground. Yes, the country that their forefathers stole* from the native people that lived here before us.

so if we are going to continue living with the ideals of cavemen then i’m going to have to opt out of this country. but if you want to move forward as a society and build humanity into something that will echo into the universe all the way to God’s doorstep, you can climb aboard my metaphorical spaceship and we’ll see how far we can get on electricity.

and since my spaceship only exists in our imaginations, there is logically enough room for everybody, unlike that ark in that fictional story we all grew up on.

TL;DR

in a world where the word of “One God” seems to transcend simple human morality,

Atrus Falling supports future peace,
not future priests.

There’s a small window near the back where you can still see the edge of the Earth. After a few seconds it disappears from sight.

There are tape marks around the window.

••••

>LOOK AROUND

There’s a dated computer system nearby. None of the buttons appear familiar.

••••

>PRESS A BUTTON

Music begins to play.

••••

>PRESS ANOTHER BUTTON

The button doesn’t press. You jam your finger a bit.

•••

There is a keyhole above the button. Next to the keyhole the number “28” is written in very small type.

•••

>GO TO FRONT

There is a swiveling leather armchair at the center of a small room. There appears to be some basic controls here. All of the lights are flashing “AUTO”. There are no windows.

•••

>USE CONTROLS

Any button you press appears to do nothing. Levers you pull snap back to their original positions.

•••

>LOOK AT CHAIR

There is a crumbled up picture of a little boy and his parents. The top of the picture appears to have been carefully torn off.

•••

>TAKE PICTURE

You don’t have a camera.

•••

>PICK UP PICTURE

There is something printed on the back of the picture.

“THINK DONT SMOKE.”

•••

>SIT IN CHAIR

You can feel the old leather crack underneath your weight. The seat springs back up suprisingly and the right armrest cover falls to the floor. You hear something metal clang on the tile.

•••

>INVESTIGATE

You find a small key. The number “28” is engraved at the top

•••

>GO TO BACK

There’s a dated computer system nearby. Two of the buttons appear familiar. There is a small window.

•••

>PLACE KEY IN KEYHOLE

The button below the keyhole lights up

•••

>PRESS BUTTON

The wall behind you creaks open revealing a very small room.

•••

>GO INTO ROOM

There is a small bed. It is unkempt. Next to the bed there is a small table.  To the right there is a dusty terminal.

•••

>LOOK AT BED

It is unkempt.

•••

>LOOK AT TABLE

On the table there is a square piece of plastic with a hole in the middle. Under the plastic there is a piece of paper.

•••

>PICK UP PAPER

It is a picture of a sky. On the back there is a picture of a pack of cigarettes. It seems odd that there are so many in the box. There is tape around the edges of the picture.

•••

>INVESTIGATE TERMINAL

It is very dusty. You can’t read what is on the screen.

•••

>WIPE SCREEN

There is something written on the screen…

“THERE IS A SMALL WINDOW NEAR THE BACK WHERE YOU CAN STILL SEE THE EDGE OF THE EARTH. AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT DISAPPEARS FROM SIGHT…”

I am an atheist.

This may be the most personal thing i have ever posted on the internet. This may be the most personal thing I have ever done. My descent (or ascent, direction is irrelevant) into atheism was one that was very personal to me. My final decision was not based on scientific discoveries or political views, (which I tried very hard to keep completely out of this video). It had to do with events in my own life. I do leave some things out because really almost everything in my life has contributed to the person I am today, and giving you a play by play of my entire life would take…a lifetime. These are particular events that stick out to me when I think back on my life in regards to my faith and lack thereof.

I apologize for the length. I in no way intended for this video to be this long. I even tried to cut out some excess ramblings.

More of my music

Alright. I’ve buckled down. Releasing the EP, a Picture of a Sky on December 26th. The day that would’ve been my fathers 49th birthday. Be ready.
